SETTDFIX.COM
As you are all aware, the time and date setting utility provided with
pc Ditto II does not work correctly. The program PCDSETTD.COM actually
works correctly, but an invalid year is returned from the pc Ditto program
itself. When PCDSETTD.COM tries to set the date with this value DOS will
not let it. Hence, the incorrect date, with a correct time.
I used DEBUG to trace the functioning of this program, and found that
pc Ditto returns the correct date, but with the high and low bytes of the
year reversed. I guess that comes from too much switching back and forth
between Intel and Motorola formats. Anyway, I changed the program to return
the bytes to their correct order. It now sets the time and date as it
should.
This program, just like PCDSETTD.COM, requires the ST's clock to be set
prior to running PC-DITTO. If you have a battery backed up clock, a mega,
or an ICD Host adaptor then this is taken care of for you.
This program is freeware and may be distributed freely. Please keep this
doc file with it when distributing it.
If you have any questions or comments I am J.JOHNSON51 on GEnie.
Caveat: When Avant-Garde corrects the byte reversal problem in the
PC-DITTO program itself this program will no longer work, and you should
go back to the original PCDSETTD.COM.
